Strong molded body to protect electronics and internals in light rain and snow. Durable, UV stable with impact protection, and also has air vents for cooling but do not allow water to enter.  Optional Parachute Mounting and housing available for ICON™ and SkyJib™ craft.

Optional RTK L1 GPS Positioning

Optional RTK L1 Centimeter level GNSS positioning – Real Time Kinematics (RTK) for greater accuracy in a small lightweight and energy efficient module.  This unit is fully integrated with the flight control system and is a cost effective way to improve position accuracy.

Navigation LED's

Ultra Bright Navigation LEDs with variable intensity, high light and low light applications to increase craft visibility over longer distances  (up to 2000 metres) offering improved visibility for craft orientation.

The LED’s can be set to daytime mode and night mode – they can be set to each mode from the ground control device. Please note: in most geographies operation at night requires special clearance from aviation authorities.

Molded Carbon Fibre Booms

Molded booms are made from the high quality 3k twill with a cosmetic matt finish. Aerodynamic shape under thrust area for maximum efficiency and reduced drag buffeting. The special moldings offer a far more rigid and secure mounting than round section booms and precision engineered high grade alloy Pin and Bushed pivots are incorporated at the boom root for the swing mechanism.

Advanced Quick Release lever device secures the booms in place with an added safety lock mechanism.

Interchangeable Payloads

Various payloads can easily be interchanged with another sensor to reconfigure the craft for a different function. Industrial grade waterproof “Pin-Out” connectors allow simple hassle free attachment of power and transmission of the sensor to the craft core and on-board computer equipment.

Available payloads for the ICON™ are:

A dual sensor, gyro-stabilised camera payload that gives high-quality imagery and video. This is a field-proven, reliable and high performance gimbal that has been used for a range of missions and has been engineered to provide users with a technology driven gimbal which offers HD imagery, day and night vision, and real-time video.   Optional object tracking available.

– Custom payloads including hard mounted LiDAR sensors and Hyperspectral cameras or a combination of sensors.

– An Agricultural Precision Spray payload is currently in development.

A pyrotechnically deployed parachute offers the fastest and most reliable operation, reducing risk to persons and property on the ground, even during high speed and low altitude operations.

Our parachutes are supplied by a renowned company who have been producing ballistic rescue parachutes for light sport aircraft, ultralights and UAVs for over thirty years: their proven track record provides you maximum surety.

Avionics and Optional 5th generation Intel i7 Based Mission Computer

Our flight avionics offer fully stabilized flight either operated by a radio controller or via our advanced ground and mission control stations. Standard features include:

– Auto take-off and landing

– Fully automated and repeatable GPS waypoint flight

– Return to take-off position with the flick of a switch

– 3 x temperature controlled IMU’s, 3 x magnetometers, 2 x Barometers, 2 x GPS

– Multiple failsafe modes for safe and secure operations

ICON™ for ISR Operations

The Aeronavics ICON™ is either a heavy lift or long endurance craft in the lighter ISR60 configuration.

With long range radio and video links up to 20 km and 60 minutes flight endurance, this aircraft offers a unique solution to today’s security and inspection needs.  A variety of customized control options are also available upon request.

Custom and Future Payloads

The ICON™ can carry heavy payloads of up to 15 kg, or extended flight times on lighter loads. It’s a powerful and capable system with a wide range of potential applications.

We are able to integrate a variety of customized payloads if required. We have integrated LiDAR scanners and combinations of Hyper-spectral / Thermal Imaging and RGB cameras.  A specialist ISR payload with ultra long range radio and video link is also available.

Aeronavics Ground Station

Aeronavics offers a range of ground control options. Our Advanced Ground Station combines all of the equipment needed to control your aircraft and plan your mission into one. Control your aircraft using the integrated Microsoft Surface Pro 4 tablet, whilst simultaneously monitoring your aircraft’s flight via the integrated video receivers and full HD monitor.

Parachute

Our parachutes are supplied by a renowned, who have been producing ballistic rescue parachutes for light sport aircraft, ultralights and UAVs for thirty years: their proven track record provides you maximum surety.

For convenience, parachutes are supplied with protective canister and certification to allow transport in standard airline cabin baggage.

Spidertracks Satellite Locator

A Spidertracks Spider 7 locator unit uses the Iridium satellite network to monitor your aircraft’s position, anywhere on the planet.  Aviation companies around the world use Spidertracks to manage their fleets, keep stakeholders informed, and respond quickly in the event of an emergency. Working with Spidertracks, Aeronavics brings this same level of assurance to professional UAV operators.  With an Aeronavics’ Spider 7 equipped aircraft, you can recover your aircraft from landings in remote locations, communicate your position to other airspace users, and monitor your fleets’ operations from anywhere with an internet connection.

RTK GPS

A conventional GPS offers a typical accuracy of approximately one metre.  RTK GPS uses an additional ground based sensor to correct for atmospheric distortions, significantly improving GPS accuracy.  An Aeronavics RTK equipped aircraft works with Aeronavics’ Mission Control ground station to sense its position to within 40mm.?By using RTK GPS, you are able to operate more precisely in proximity to obstacles, and reduce your reliance on manual surveyed Ground Control Points when performing photogrammetry missions.

High Performance Computing

For the ultimate in future proofing, Aeronavics’ aircraft can be upgraded to carry a 5th General Intel i7 based mission computer.  With a Core i7-5557U dual-core processor (quad-core with Hyper-Threading) running at up to 3.4GHz, 4MB and a massive 16GB of DDR3 memory, this is simply the highest performance computer available on a commercial multi-rotor today. Today, Aeronavics’ customers use their high performance computers for advanced research into mesh networks, machine vision and navigation.  In the future, in-field software updates will allow these same advanced functionalities to be deployed to add time saving autonomy and intelligence capabilities to your aircraft.
