Strong molded body to protect electronics and internals in light rain and snow. Durable, UV stable with impact protection, and also has air vents for cooling but do not allow water to enter. Optional Parachute Mounting and housing available for ICON™ and SkyJib™ craft.
Retractable Landing Gear
Retractable landing gear offers an unobstructed view with a 3-axis gimbal. Robust industrial actuators and Lightweight Carbon Fibre removable molded leg sections with removable skids for pack down and storage.
Ultra Bright Navigation LEDs with variable intensity, high light and low light applications to increase craft visibility over longer distances offering improved visibility for craft orientation. The LED’s can be set to daytime mode and night mode – they can be set to each mode from the ground control device. Please note: in most geographies operation at night requires special clearance from aviation authorities.
Molded Carbon Fibre Booms
Molded booms are made from the high quality 3k twill with a cosmetic matt finish. Aerodynamic shape under thrust area for maximum efficiency and reduced drag buffeting. The special moldings offer a far more rigid and secure mounting than round section booms and precision engineered high grade alloy Pin and Bushed pivots are incorporated at the boom root for the swing mechanism. Advanced Quick Release lever device secures the booms in place with an added safety lock mechanism.
Quick Release “gear mount” allows for rapid mission reconfiguration. Various payloads can easily and swiftly be interchanged with another sensor to reconfigure the craft for a different function. Industrial grade waterproof “Pin-Out” connectors allow simple hassle free attachment of power and transmission of the sensor to the craft core and on-board computer equipment. Avionics and Optional 5th Generation Intel i7 Based Mission Computer
Our avionics offer fully stabilized flight either operated by a radio controller or via our advanced ground control station. 50x Optical Zoom
Recent developments in technology and engineering have allowed us to create an asset inspection craft capable of up to 50x optical zoom. This allows for, in particular, detailed inspection of assets without the need for operating within close proximity to the point of interest. Several reputable world class UAV inspection companies are choosing the Aeronavics SkyJib class craft with this option for industrial applications.
SkyJib™ for Inspection
Routine inspection of high value assets for effective life-cycle asset management can be time consuming and expensive, particularly if disrupting asset operation, and dangerous also for personnel. Carrying a stabilized 24MP camera with optical zoom capability up to 50x, as well as a radiometric thermal camera, the Aeronavics SkyJib™ can be flown around the asset. The 50x zoom capability allows detailed inspection of points of interest while remaining a safe distance from sensitive equipment. Temperature measurements of critical components can be captured for further analysis. The ability to capture asset condition information in a safe manner while minimizing disruption to daily operations allows for optimizing maintenance and maximizing asset utilization.

For the ultimate in future proofing, Aeronavics’ aircraft can be upgraded to carry a 5th General Intel i7 based mission computer. With a Core i7-5557U dual-core processor (quad-core with Hyper-Threading) running at up to 3.4GHz, 4MB and a massive 16GB of DDR3 memory, this is simply the highest performance computer available on a commercial multi-rotor today. Today, Aeronavics’ customers use their high performance computers for advanced research into mesh networks, machine vision and navigation. In the future, in-field software updates will allow these same advanced functionalities to be deployed to add time saving autonomy and intelligence capabilities to your aircraft.
